Vadadra are the followers of Bala Mata a form of Amba Maa with eighteen hands. The vadadra Brahmins receive their designation from the village Vadad or Valad (other names are - Vadadras, Valadras, Varadra, Valadhra or Valandra) near Ahmedabad. The name of the town Vadad was adopted by the community living around the temple of Bala Mata (). They are Devi Bhakts. Many of them used to be mendicants but have since became a highly educated community with many doctors, teachers and businessmen. Considerable number of them are cultivators and merchants. They were chiefly found in Kaira but today they are found all over the world. According to Charotar Sarv sangrah, they have two broad divisions 1) Tarpada Vadara Brahmin and 2) Mewada Vadadra Brahman. They have sixteen Gotras amongs them. In the past century, many folks from the Vadadra community have migrated to countries such as East Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia and the gulf countries. Vadadra Brahmins are divided into main two castes Tarpada Vadadra and Mehwada Vadadra. ==Notable Vadadra Brahmins== * Mohanlal Pandya, Freedom Fighter with Mahatma Gandhi 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Vadadra Brahmin」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
